Antiwrinkle Injections

Antiwrinkle injections are one of the commonest non-surgical cosmetic treatments being performed all around the world. This is because they are a safe, effective way to soften lines and wrinkles on the face, caused by muscle movement. The procedure takes minutes, has minimal to no downtime and the onset of action is from 2-14 days and lasts 3-4 months or sometimes longer if a person has had previous treatments.

Antiwrinke injections are very versatile. Some but not all of their applications are listed below:

  •  Create a “non-surgical brow lift”
  • Treat crow’s feet
  • Treat forehead lines
  • Treat frown lines (between the eyebrows)
  • Treat asymmetry
  • Correct a “gummy” or asymmetrical smile
  • Paralyse the masseter (+/- temporalis muscles) thereby treating bruxism (jaw clenching, grinding) and preventing the associated headaches and pain, whilst shaping and softening the jawline and correcting asymmetry
  • Treat excessive sweating on the hands, feet and armpits
  • Treat upper lip lines and down-turned corners of the mouth
  • Smooth the neck and prevent
  • Component of a non-surgical lower facelift

Fillers

Dermal fillers are smooth injectable gels made from hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring component of skin. Dr Taylor uses a range of fillers selected to address your particular concern and desired outcome. Whether it be to restore volume, treat lines and wrinkles, improve skin tone and texture, shape, sculpt or enhance your features, there are many options to achieve the effect you desire. When used appropriately, fillers rejuvenate the facial appearance whilst providing volume and hydration. Unfortunately, fillers have negative reputation these days due to the abundance of overdone puffy faces and disproportionate lips that we see in society and the media. This is not how fillers were designed to be used and most of these results were not generated by qualified Plastic Surgeons. Dr Taylor’s approach is to provide a beautiful, sophisticated and subtle result without looking “done.” Fillers are safe when performed by a qualified professional and can be used to hydrate the skin and stimulate collagen production and don’t always need to increase volume.

Microneedling

As we age the natural architecture of our skin deteriorates which leads to fine lines, wrinkles, large pores and uneven skin texture. Microneedling is a form of Collagen Induction Therapy, which can address these signs of ageing and deliver plump, glowing skin. It can also improve the appearance of melasma and scarring caused by acne and surgery. By creating thousands of micro-injuries in the skin, the body’s natural wound healing process is triggered. This assists in the promotion of collagen and elastin, the 2 proteins responsible for the structure of the skin.

SkinPen® Precision is one the very few TGA approved medical micro-needling devices in Australia and this is the device we use.

A pre-treatment consultation will determine your medical history, any medications you may be taking and determine whether or not SkinPen® Precision is suitable for you. Typically 3-6 sessions are recommended to achieve optimal results. Sessions are scheduled 4-6 weeks apart and you will provided with a recommend skincare regime to enhance your results.

Radiofrequency Microneedling

Radiofrequency energy produces a controlled rise in the temperature of the tissue. This causes thermal damage which in turn stimulates conformational changes in collagen and new collagen formation. Combining microneedling with radiofrequency, allows for collagen and elastin stimulation via two different processes leading to great capability to rejuvenate ageing skin and target specific skin concerns. Dr Taylor uses the Potenza microneedling system, the world’s first 4 mode microneedling device, making it highly versatile. This system can target of superficial and deep layers of the skin to tighten and revitalise and tighten the skin. It can used to treat rosacea, acne scars (as well as active acne, when used by a Dermatologist), melasma and fine lines and wrinkles

The advantages of the Potenza are:

  • Highly effective
  • Limited downtime
  • Minimal risk and side effect profile
  • Can be used to treat a variety of skin concerns

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the difference between fat transfer and fillers?
As opposed to synthetic fillers, the process of a fat transfer keeps the fat cells permanently where they are placed. They use a person’s own fat tissue for injection, rather than filler materials.
Am I a good candidate for abdominoplasty surgery?
The best candidates for abdominoplasty surgery patients are those who are fit, have already achieved any weight loss goals. Abdominoplasty surgery is not a substitute for diet and exercise and can be associated with increased risks in patients who are overweight or obese. Women who are planning future pregnancies should also delay abdominoplasty surgery.
How much does breast reconstruction surgery cost?
The cost for breast reconstruction is determined by the extent and complexity of the procedure, as well as surgeon costs, anaesthetist fees, hospital fees, and post-operative recovery costs. Because of its reconstructive nature, a portion of the procedure costs may be covered by Medicare or your private health insurer, but you will need to check what criteria you must meet to be eligible.
What is recovery from breast revision like?
Recovery from breast revision surgery will be similar to the recovery experienced following the initial implant procedure. It is recommended that you minimise strenuous activity and exercise after surgery. You should also avoid wearing underwire bras to facilitate proper healing of the underlying breast tissue.
