Skin Tightening With Potenza

Non-surgical procedures

Radiofrequency energy produces a controlled rise in the temperature of the tissue. This causes thermal damage which in turn stimulates conformational changes in collagen and new collagen formation.

Radiofrequency Microneedling

Combining microneedling with radiofrequency allows for collagen and elastin stimulation via two different processes leading to great capability to rejuvenate ageing skin and target specific skin concerns. Dr Taylor uses the Potenza microneedling system, the world’s first 4 mode microneedling device, making it highly versatile. This system can target superficial and deep layers of the skin to improve tone, texture and induce skin tightening through collagen induction. It can used to treat rosacea, acne scars (as well as active acne, when used by a Dermatologist), melasma and fine lines and rhytids (wrinkles).

The advantages of the Potenza are:

  • Effective at addressing some signs of skin ageing and sun damage
  • Limited downtime
  • Risk and side effect profile minimised when used by a trained professional
  • Can be used to treat a variety of skin concerns
  • Can be used on all skin types
  • Can be used anywhere on the body

Potenza takes microneedling to new levels. The versatility this system provides allows treatments to be tailored based on your specific needs – all skin types, anywhere on the body, any time of the year. The Potenza RF microneedling treatment uses ultrafine needles and heat to penetrate the top layer of the skin and trigger the body’s natural healing process to regenerate new collagen and elastin. The number of passes and penetration to the skin will vary by patient and affect the results seen. The elastin and collagen building typically takes place 4-6 weeks after treatment, with optimal results usually seen at 12 weeks after the last treatment.

A pre-treatment consultation will determine your medical history, any medications you may be taking and determine whether or not Potenza RD microneedling is suitable for you. Typically 3-6 sessions are recommended to achieve optimal results. Sessions are scheduled 4-6 weeks apart and you will be provided with a recommended skincare regime to enhance your results.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the difference between fat transfer and fillers?
As opposed to synthetic fillers, the process of a fat transfer keeps the fat cells permanently where they are placed. They use a person’s own fat tissue for injection, rather than filler materials.
Am I a good candidate for abdominoplasty surgery?
The best candidates for abdominoplasty surgery patients are those who are fit, have already achieved any weight loss goals. Abdominoplasty surgery is not a substitute for diet and exercise and can be associated with increased risks in patients who are overweight or obese. Women who are planning future pregnancies should also delay abdominoplasty surgery.
How much does breast reconstruction surgery cost?
The cost for breast reconstruction is determined by the extent and complexity of the procedure, as well as surgeon costs, anaesthetist fees, hospital fees, and post-operative recovery costs. Because of its reconstructive nature, a portion of the procedure costs may be covered by Medicare or your private health insurer, but you will need to check what criteria you must meet to be eligible.
What is recovery from breast revision like?
Recovery from breast revision surgery will be similar to the recovery experienced following the initial implant procedure. It is recommended that you minimise strenuous activity and exercise after surgery. You should also avoid wearing underwire bras to facilitate proper healing of the underlying breast tissue.
